Several flights are being modified or cancelled due to the new coronavirus, and while many passengers are hoping to get reimbursed, there are a few things you should know about whether or not your specific flight qualifies. The coronavirus pandemic has already caused thousands of flights to be cancelled and will continue to do so. Airlines are reducing flight schedules, temporarily stopping service to some locations, or perhaps stopping operations entirely. You won’t be eligible for a refund unless the terms and circumstances of your ticket permit it if you decide to change your travel itinerary and cancel a flight you booked before the airline cancelled the flight (i.e., it is still in operation). While cancellation policies can vary greatly by airline and by the particular fare class you’ve purchased, it’s imperative to carefully read the fine print when purchasing your ticket if you think you might need to cancel your flight. So, how do you cancel a ticket if you buy one but cannot travel?
